When people explain their reasons for not wanting to become self employed, the number one excuse they use is because they like the security. Everyone likes to have security, but that security maybe shouldn’t involve working long hours with little to show for it, and a suit on a power trip that can fire you because a Volkswagen drove by – maybe that isn’t how people are meant to live. Please dont be misled, because I am not by any means suggesting that if you have your own business you will work fewer hours. The odds are that you will work more hours, but you’ll likely be more satisfied in doing so because it puts the means of production in your hands. Many people do in fact enjoy their jobs and fair play to them, but for those of you who are tired to death of it all, why not become self-employed?
